Ts. Idris Taib holds degrees in Master in Business Administration (2009), Bachelor of Architecture (1998) and Bachelor of Science in Housing, Building & Planning (1995). He has been practicing in the construction industry in various organizations including property developer, architectural consulting firm, design and build contractor and project management consultant. He has also been involved in info-tech business incubator, human capital training and development, knowledge management enterprise and educational institution.

Idris is an Academic Member of the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM), a member of the PAM Education Committee, a Graduate Architect with the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM), a registered Professional Technologist (Building Construction) with the Malaysia Board of Technology (MBOT), an editorial members for the Journal of Architectural Education and Practice (JAEP) and the Executive Editor for the Malaysia Architectural Journal (MAJ). He also currently serves the ARCASIA Committee of Architectural Education (ACAE) of the Architect Regional Asia (ARCASIA) as the ACAE Secretariat (2022/23).

With diverse exposure in both the industry and academia, his research interests include knowledge management in architectural education and practice, sustainable design and development, urban heritage study and the application of information and communication technology in the built environment industry.
