Ts. Idris Taib holds a Master in Business Administration (2009), a Bachelor of Architecture (1998), and a Bachelor of Science in Housing, Building & Planning (1995). Throughout his professional journey, he has been actively involved across diverse sectors of the built environment industry, including property development, architectural consultancy, design-and-build construction, project management consultancy, and technology-driven knowledge enterprises. His multidisciplinary exposure also extends into human capital development, digital innovation ecosystems, and higher education.
Idris is an Academic Member of the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM), a member of the PAM Education Committee, a Graduate Architect registered with the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM), and a registered Professional Technologist (Building Construction) with the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT). He also serves as Executive Editor of the Malaysia Architectural Journal (MAJ) and previously represented Malaysia within the ARCASIA Committee on Architectural Education (ACAE) under the Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA) as ACAE Secretariat (2022/23).
Bridging both academia and professional practice, Idris’s work increasingly explores the intersection between architecture, human cognition, and emerging intelligent technologies. His current areas of interest include knowledge management in architectural education and practice, sustainable design and development, urban heritage studies, and the evolving role of artificial intelligence, digital ecosystems, and computational thinking within the built environment industry. More recently, his writings and experimental frameworks have focused on the philosophical and practical implications of AI-assisted architectural thinking, particularly through concepts such as ARCH[@i]TECH and Architecture 6.0, which examine the transition from isolated design processes toward reflective human–AI collaboration in an accelerating civilisation.
